Meet Our Local Producers

A few of our fresh favourites + how to eat them.

Salad Roll
Salad Roll

Just the right amount. The meaning of our name (‘lagom’ loosely translated from Swedish) and the ethos by which we live and work by extends to our sustainability approaches, too. In the bakery, eating/treading as lightly as possible looks like reducing our overall waste, lowering our food miles and using seasonal ingredients to make the most of what nature’s giving.

Our favourite way to do this? Partnering with local producers, farmers and growers. We’re surrounded by a bounty of fresh goodies; we want to pass the deliciousness on to you. And the flavours are out-of-this-world amazing.

Below, we’re spotlighting a few of our hyper-local faves, all located in our immediate South Coast region and used in our daily sustaining and nourishing snacks.

Martins Ridge Farm

Sustainably farmed pork and beef from just up the road in Conjola. It doesn't get any better than this: the livestock are raised free range with a focus on land improvement, biodiversity and forgoing chemical fertilisers.

At Lagom: You’ll find various Martins Ridge Farm meats scattered throughout our snack menu, but our top pick is the Sausage Roll. Juicy pork and beef mince from the farm mixed with onion, garlic and herbs for the best post-surf sustenance. Squeeze on a few dollops of our house-made tomato ketchup, and wow. (Don’t forget to pick up charcuterie for later from our fridge section).

Coopers Produce

Harvesting locally and abundantly, Tim turns up with armloads of in-season produce. We’ve been loving the summer zucchini and lots and lots of greens – everything is as crisp, juicy and tasty as can be

At Lagom: We love to use Tim’s pickings wherever we can. The mega-stars right now are the freshly picked jalapeños, which we then pickle in-house and squish between sourdough (along with roasted onion, smoked mozzarella and local honey) as our toastie special. Plus, frequent salad appearances.

Growing Together

A community project based in Milton with a prospering crop and a commitment to sustainable and regenerative agriculture. They’re also dedicated to education and empowerment, so we always add their upcoming events to the calendar (including crop swaps and worm farm workshops).

At Lagom: Our weekly salads often feature the in-season crops from the team. We love their radicchio right now (so bitter, so good) and can’t wait to taste what’s plentiful next.

Termeil Forest Gardens Microgreens

Farmer Greg is pretty passionate about his microgreens – they're so potent and packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Here’s a fun fact for you: 30g of broccoli microgreens is equivalent in nutrition to 3.5 kg of the vegetable itself.

At Lagom: We sprinkle these sprouts onto the Salad Roll each day, adding extra oomph and nutrition to our crowd favourite. Purchase a tub for home as well – for finishing your soups, curries, salads, sandwiches, pizzas and more.

Beewise Honey

Harvested in Bawley Point by Ian and Linda, this super local honey is always our top pick. Knowing these happy bees are doing their thing from just down the highway means that every dollop, drizzle and bite is drenched in goodness – healthy and delicious.

At Lagom: The obvious choice is our monthly toastie special, elevating the Cheese + Jalapeño Toastie with a little sweetness. But the real winner is the Multi Loaf – surprised? We soak the seeds in this local honey, which explains that come-back-for-more flavour. Grab a jar for yourself from our retail shelves!
