Beyond the Bread Shelves

Our top retail picks: sustainable, delicious, South Coast staples.

Our bread shelves are the centrepiece of our bakery — our bread and butter, you might say… They’re packed with sourdough: standard loaves and special flavours that appear daily or on a less frequent basis. They’re the fine work of our bakers: researched, tested, perfected and lovingly made each day.

Spin to the left, and behold the Lagom Bakery retail selection. Not your ordinary supermarket staples. These are handpicked bits that we wholeheartedly love (we’ll talk your ear off about the combos we’re creating, if you’ll let us).

We’ve vetted each product and given it a big tick of approval, looking for Australian (South Coast NSW, if possible!), sustainable and like-minded producers. And we reckon we’ve done a pretty sweet job.

These are a few of our current South Coast staples (and a couple from a little further afield).

Chunky Dave’s Peanut Butter

We personally buy this stuff by the 1kg jar because no breakfast, snack or dessert is complete without it (almost). For an easy snack, we grab a sourdough Fruit Bun, split it in half, and slather each side with this fittingly chunky spread.

Second Fiddle Smokehouse Trout Pate

Sourced from high country Victoria; smoked on the NSW South Coast. These jars disappear in the blink of an eye due to their cult following. Perfect for dipping and spreading.

Duro Pasta

South Coast durum wheat semolina pasta! And, for the simplest weeknight dinner, we add one of the Pinegrove Estate pre-made sauces sitting on our shelves.

Termeil Forest Gardens Microgreens

Greg grows these just down the road from us, dedicating his days to tiny fronds that have a mega impact. We’re obsessed with the nutritional benefits, and love adding these to every Salad Roll in the fridge — and all other dishes, too. (Greg puts them on pizza, so how’s that for versatility?)

Meredith Dairy Australian Native Pepperberry Goat Cheese

This staple sits humbly on the fridge shelves, but it does the hard work of elevating a simple dish. Of course, the go-to is sourdough toast with egg, avocado and a healthy amount of this delicious cheese.

Lagom Bakery Muesli

It’s become a real staple around here. Something about the combination of cinnamon, maple syrup, sesame seeds, roasted macadamias and pecans — it’s got the crunch and the fibre to make it a perfect brekkie. Or double as a crumble topping for a healthier dessert option.

Also in our baskets right now: Molives olives, Little Tin Co tinned fish, Gwylo condiments, Guerrilla Roasters coffee beans, Phycohealth fruit straps, Snowy Mountains Trout, Pepe Saya salted caramels.

Head in-store to see the full selection (we’ve only dropped a few crumbs).
