Our daily bread at a glance.

Welcome to the Lagom Bakery sourdough guide, where we’re dissecting all the crumbs.

This is everything you need to know about our core range of artisan sourdough — when to eat them, what to enjoy with them, and which ones are award-winners too. So you can choose your bread before you get to the counter (or pre-order for extra ease).

Lagom Bakery Sourdough

House Loaf

It hardly requires an explanation. The House Loaf is our everyday (and everything) sourdough bread — it’s also Head Baker Brinley’s favourite.

Features: Chewy ears and a moist crumb, made with sustainable stoneground flour.

We recommend: Opting for the House Loaf as your daily signature — for toast, dipping in soup, making sandwiches and buying for others as a simple and satisfying ‘thank you’.

Seedy House Loaf

Our House Loaf with added goodness. This award-winner includes extra crunch and flavour in every bite, thanks to its specialty seed coating.

Features: A crust crafted from the Lagom Bakery homemade seed blend — sesame, nigella, fennel, sunflower and pepita.

We recommend: Using it as you would the House Loaf, but we’re also huge fans of the quick picnic DIY Reuben with a twist. Top with mayo, sauerkraut, pastrami and Swiss cheese.

Fruit Loaf

A sourdough loaf for the raisin bread fans — and another award-winner. Made from our house dough, this one is chock-full of tasty bits.

Features: Mixed fruit and spices, steeped in Earl Grey tea to achieve that depth of flavour that keeps fans coming back for more.

We recommend: For breakfast. And dessert — because the idea of a bread and butter pudding made with these slices is just delectable.

Budawang Bread

It’s so good, you’d never know it’s wheat-free. This is our ‘mountain bread’ alternative, named for the iconic ranges that line the South Coast.

Features: Oats, nuts and seeds, making it a protein-packed, absolutely satisfying and nourishing bread.

We recommend: Topping it with a gooey poached or boiled egg and avocado, and enjoying it at all times of the day.

Organic Spelt Sourdough Loaf

Made from 100% organic stoneground flour, this daily loaf is nutrient-dense and full of flavour.

Features: Organic spelt flour, which offers a sweet and slightly nutty taste, while boosting all those vitamins, minerals and protein intake.

We recommend: If you love a wholemeal-y loaf, try this as your new daily — for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.

Multi Loaf (Multigrain)

There’s something extra-special about this sourdough. Besides being an award-winner, it’s almost like eating the whole breakfast spread in one easy slice.

Features: Whole grains and seeds soaked in local South Coast honey — that’s the secret to the subtle sweetness — and a sprinkle of oats on the outside.

We recommend: Tearing this one up to dip at your next picnic, or turn it into a fun take on the classic cob loaf!

Baguette

‘The long one’, ‘the stick’; we hear all the names. Our award-winning baguette is an everyday essential, often carried to the car with the end bitten off — it’s too hard to resist.

Features: White dough shaped long and thin for a crunchy crust, available with a seeded outer or plain.

We recommend: Dunking, dipping, savouring, as you turn it into sandwiches or slice it for the perfect antipasto picnic platter.

White Tin Loaf

The softest Lagom Bakery sourdough, this one is great for all ages — the young and the old. It’s totally palatable and multi-purpose.

Features: Your choice of crust — sesame, poppy or plain.

We recommend: Slapping two slices with your favourite sandwich fillings as the perfect work or school lunch.

Turkish Loaf + Roll

A staple for its versatility, once you’ve tasted the Turkish, you’ll come up with every excuse to restock.

Features: A soft dough, perfect for pulling apart, with Australian olive oil, sesame and nigella seeds to finish.

We recommend: Keeping these on-hand for quick lunches (makes a beautiful salad roll), girl dinner platters and dipping in tomato-y, brothy dishes.

Miche Loaf

The jumbo, family-sized house dough, so you can feed the whole crowd in one go.

Features: All the pros of the House Loaf.

We recommend: Entertaining with this one — an impressive cob loaf or a delicious slice to enjoy with the main meal.

Remember, how you store your local sourdough matters! Catch up on all things bread bags so you can keep your sourdough fresher for longer, keeping you well-fed for days.
